Jeffrey Davis, 31, had been warned against holding the for-profit Sicklerville party due to potential COVID-19 and emergency order violations, Gloucester Township police said.

Still, nearly 250 people paid a cover fee and showed up to his Prospect Court home last Sunday for a backyard bash, police said. Police responded to the same house last month on similar complaints, they said.

Davis and the party promoter, Marheem Miller, 28, of Camden, were charged with three counts of violating executive orders imposed by Gov. Phil Murphy.

Outdoor gatherings are limited to 500 people with masks when social distancing is not possible, Murphy's orders say.
